Shakespeare's Food of Love
In celebration of the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare's death, Canvas pays tribute to one of the wordsmith's famous lines "If music be the food of love play on". Inspired by Shakespeare’s evocative line Nathan Wyburn - 'Not That Kind of Art' artist, has produced a special speed art video made entirely out of food!
"If music be the food of love play on" is the opening line of Shakespeare’s comedy Twelfth Night (1601–1602) and arguably the most famous musical quote of all. Orsino, one of the main characters of this play is asking for more music because he hopes that an excess of music might cure him of his obsession with the Countess Olivia just as eating too much can put you off food.
For this portrait he used beetroot juice for the painting and framed it with vegetables such as carrots, leeks, sweet potato, tomato & onions. This original artwork took Nathan just two hours and he guaranteed that smelt amazing and fresh!
